What a Travel Advisor Actually Does (and Why It's Not What You Think)

Let's clear something up: A travel advisor is not just someone who books your flight for you. If that's what you're picturing, I completely understand the "why wouldn't I just do this myself?" hesitation.
Here's what I actually do.
I Ask the Questions You Didn't Know You Needed to Answer
Before we ever talk about hotels we talk about what this trip needs to feel like such as who's coming, what pace fits your group, what would make this trip a win in your eyes six months from now. (This is the same groundwork covered in Where Do We Even Start? LINK TO BLOG 1 except I walk it with you instead of you working through it alone.)
I Catch the Stuff That Quietly Wrecks Trips
Overlapping park hours. Transportation gaps. A "great deal" resort that's actually 40 minutes from everything you wanted to do.
I Build In the Plan B Before You Need It
Weather, closures, changed flights, a kid who gets sick on day two - this is the protect step of how I plan every trip. It's not about assuming the worst. It's about not letting the unexpected derail something you've been looking forward to for months.
I'm There During the Trip, Not Just Before It
Booking is the easy part. The real value is what happens when something shifts mid-trip and you have someone in your corner instead of a hold-music queue.
And It Doesn't Cost You What You Think
I don't charge more for any of this than booking it yourself would cost you in time, stress, and the vendor relationships I already have. A travel advisor isn't for people who can't plan a trip. It's for people who'd rather spend their planning energy on the fun parts and hand the logistics, the safety nets, and the "wait, did we think of everything?" spiral to someone who does this for a living.
Quick Questions
Does it cost more to book through an advisor than booking myself? I personally do not charge any fees for utilizing my services! I’m also very transparent with pricing, so you will always know what you’re paying for when booking a trip through me.
What if I already know exactly what I want to book? Even then, I'm often catching gaps or protections people didn't know they needed, it’s worth a quick conversation either way!
